eternal boredom?

Well, my Catholic upbringing tells me that death will bring eternal peace and love in heaven.
Hmmm....in some ways the ideas of eternity scares me more than death itself. Would eternal peace equal eternal boredom? What makes existence interesting? How do you know if you are happy unless you can compare it to feeling sad? An eternity of peace and love stretching on and on makes me feel claustrophobic.
I don't know what happens after death but I do know for certain that it will happen. We all die - including me.
