It's over
by Stella, Australia
Teacher, Aged 60
I hope I have done as much as I can in this life before I die, as I do not expect to have another chance.
My prepaid funeral plan instructs those who can, to offer any organs suitable for donation, then cremate the rest.
My ashes can be scattered at the side of the road or put in the compost! I am sure I will not care!....no music required, no flowers, no service.
Why would I wish to put my lovely family through a vague memorial service where people who have not seen me for years turn up and expect to be talked through the meaning of death/life?
I have attended many funerals over the recent years, they are sad, sometimes stupid, affairs.
My advice is to spend your energy and flower money on your living friends and enjoy every moment you can.
